ACCOMODATION
The recently finished accommodation is well equipped with air-conditioning to the main living area and principal bedroom and furnished to a high standard. It sleeps 4- 6 people and comprises of two twin bedrooms, a large lounge/diner with table & four chairs, sofa bed and a luxurious fully tiled bathroom with shower, bath, bidet. The luxurious fully fitted kitchen comprises of a ceramic hob, oven, large fridge/freezer, washing machine, toaster & microwave. In fact, all you need for full self catering. There is a good sized sunbathing terrace with views overlooking the swimming pools, landscaped areas and the Mar Menor sea. The beach of the Mar Menor is only 100 metres from the front door of the complex!
The community of Playa Honda, adjacent to the southern end of La Manga, is rapidly expanding and the completion of this prestigous complex on the south side of the Mar Menor sea has added greatly to the delights of this southerly area of the Costa Calida. The secure holiday complex offers an open air swimming pool with shallow childrens area, heated indoor pool, gym, sauna, jacuzzi and children�s play area & pool, all finished to an exceptionally high standard. It has all that a family holiday requires, with the sandy beaches of the Mar Menor alongside the complex. For those who desire more bustle, nightlife and action, then a short drive away is the La Manga strip, a paradise for those who want entertainment and nightlife. Playa Honda is also ideally situated for touring the region�s historic sites, and also offers nearby activities that include water sports, golf, go-karting, horse riding and tennis. We recommend the use of a car to take full advantage of all this area has to offer.
The apartment has private, secure underground car parking and easy access lifts. Linen and towels are supplied within the rental fee. We also have an English key holder living nearby who is ready and available to provide any help you may require. A cot and high chair are available for rent at 15 euros each per week but must be booked in advance of your holiday.
This is a delightful apartment, with all facilities needed for a great holiday. Adjacent to the complex are pedalos, wind surfing and para-gliding. Within easy access there is cycling, diving, fishing, horse riding, mountain biking, sailing, surfing, swimming, tennis, walking, water skiing, wind-surfing, Kite surfing, Jet skiing and Golf at the world famous La Manga Club about 4 miles away.
COSTA CALIDA - "THE WARM COAST
Playa Honda is situated on the shores of the Mar Menor in the Province of Murcia, a coastal area which boasts one of the most moderate climates in Spain. With more days of sunshine than other mainland areas and water temperatures higher than average it has become known as the Costa Calida � the Warm Coast.
This section of coastline, boasts the attraction of Europe�s largest saltwater lagoon, the Mar Menor, that abounds with wildlife particularly at the Northern end of the lagoon which is home of thousands of flamingos during their Autumn migration.
THE MAR MENOR, A FOUNTAIN OF HEALTH
The shallow waters and the absence of tides make the Mar Menor the ideal place for all types of water sports. It is a magnificent natural swimming pool with temperatures which are maintained by a sun that shines for an average of 320 days each year. This provides water temperatures in the winter months of 11C, which rises to 30C at the height of the summer.
A PARADISE FOR NAUTICAL SPORTS
A short distance from Playa Honda in La Manga, are ten teaching centres which means that no one need travel far to practice the water sport of their choice. All of the centres offer the best and most up-to-date equipment with courses in sailing and wind-surfing tutored by qualified instructors. Many of these schools also offer courses in the sailing of catamarans, canoeing, water skiing, and most other nautical sports including deep-sea diving. They are located on the shores of the Mar Menor in ideal conditions.
Scuba and deep-sea diving have seen a considerable increase in activity during the course of the past few years. The presence of many underwater archaeological sites and sunken ships has turned the area of La Manga and Cabo de Palos into one of the most popular spots for divers from all over Spain. Diving clubs and schools exist both at Cabo de Palos and in La Manga and these organise courses throughout the year with daily trips by boat and offering rental of equipment.
EUROPES FINEST GOLFING DESTINATIONS!
A short drive from Playa Honda is the world famous La Manga Club, a haven for golfers from all over the world. La Manga Club has always been synonymous with golf, and with its three championship courses and outstanding practice facilities, it is perhaps hardly surprising that it has been voted Europes top golf resort twice in the past five years. The resort has also recently been chosen as the official winter training base of the German PGA.

The three top-quality, 18-hole championship courses all benefit from uniquely tranquil surroundings and provide many superb views. Whatever your level, the Golf Academy provide group and private tuition of the highest calibre. Day tickets are also available for the discerning golfer.
Getting to Playa Honda, La Manga couldnt be easier with Murcia (San Javier) airport only 30 minutes away. Alicante is about 60 miles away, but both airports have car hire on site.You can fly from 18 UK airports into Murcia, many airlines are low cost and are perfect for a long weekend.
A car is essential to take advantage of all that is offered in this area of Spain.

We understand how important it is for you to be able to take your holiday when you want. We aim to be as flexible as possible with regard to duration and arrival/departure dates. If you wish to book a shorter or longer break, please contact us for prices. Flights are often less expensive during the week and this may allow you a better choice when booking your flight, so we are happy to accommodate arrival and departure on any day of the week subject to availability. We can offer discounts for late bookings, call for details.
Please note that for everyones comfort, the apartments have been designated non-smoking. We regret that we cannot allow pets onto the complex.
