Description of Apartment:
This uniquely designed loft like, 45m2 (485 Sq. ft.) open space, is divided into 3 areas by a 21st century design kitchen unit; creating a private sleeping area for 2, a lounge area and a dining area which is in front of the open kitchen. The bathroom is comfortable and well distributed with a lavatory, shower and sink. Original exposed stone walls, red floor tiles and impressive wooden beams supporting the ceiling are the elements of this apartment that gives you the feeling of Barcelona in Roman times. Calmness and serenity encloses the apartment. It is located on the 4th floor on the inner side of a building, with its windows not facing the street but inwards, making it a noise free and peaceful retreat to come home to. The communal terrace with plants, easy chairs and parasol is one flight up and since youre right underneath it, chances are youll be the only one making use of it since most inhabitants of the building dont bother climbing the stairs. Just around the corner of Plaça Catalunya, Barcelonas central square at the north end of La Rambla, between one of the citys main shopping streets Portal de lAngel and Via Laietana, you will encounter the quiet, pedestrian street de les Moles with the apartment Molas. The apartment is as centrally located as one can wish for in the Medieval part of town, called Barri Gotic or Barrio Gotico (in Castilian). Barri Gotic is the oldest part of the city and the site chosen by the Romans during the Augustus Empire (27 to 14 B.C.), dense with historic and artistic landmarks, northeast of the world famous Las Ramblas promenade, The Paseig de Gracia with an abundance of upscale fashion shops and department stores and of course the most famous Gaudi buildings La Pedrera and Casa Battlo begins just on the opposite side of Placa Catalunya. The apartment is in a very central, yet quiet location, making it an ideal base to explore the city. Close to the apartment, you will find: - Plaça Catalunya with the Corte Ingles department store; literally around the corner - Las Ramblas and La Boqueria, the famous food market, on a minutes walking distance - The Modernista theatre and concert hall Palau de la Musica and the Liceu opera house - the Cathedral - the picturesque Plaça del Pi square with a frequent farmers market - lots of nice restaurants, (tapas)bars and cafés including the renown café of els Quatre Gats, one of Picassos favorites - Shopping avenue Paseig de Gracia, which features several of Gaudis most famous works of architecture - several public parking areas - an internet café, right off Plaça Catalunya - the central subway, train and bus stop Plaça Catalunya
