Description of Country house:
Nestling in the village of Polopos, Casa Carlos is an ideal base for walking, bird watching, sking and mountain biking or simply enjoying mixing with the locals in the village bar, drinking the local wine and enjoying the sunshine. Polopos is a working agricultural village in the foothills of the Alpujarras where almonds and grapes are grown. The village is ideal for children in that it is a totally safe environment where they can play and roam freely. A fifteen minute drive takes you to the coastal town of La Mamola or to the summit of La Contaveisa with its views of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The ski resort is an hour away. The area around Polopos is steeped in history and there is an abundance of flora and fauna including many different types of birds, including bee eaters, hoopoes and eagles making it ideal for walkers and those wanting to enjoy the outdoors. In October guests can participate in the annual picking of the grapes and join in with the celebrations of the harvest. Accommodation Casa Carlos is a lovingly restored Andalucian guest house offering peace and tranquility. All the facilities of the guest house are at the guest´s disposal including reading room, music room and the roof terrace. There are four double bedrooms (two double & two twin) and a bed settee that converts to a double bed in the ground floor lounge area. There is a shower room on the ground floor making the accommodation suitable for disabled people and another on the first floor. There is a large fully equipped kitchen/living/dining room on the ground floor. The roof terrace has magnificent views over the village to the sea and is partially covered to enable sun seekers to bathe at their leisure whilst also providing shade and privacy. Dinner, on request twenty four hours in advance, is available. Long term and short term lets are negotiable. Casa Carlos is open all year round and the prices remain the same throughout.
