Description of Cottage: |
Finca del Cielo is a lovely old farmhouse restored and divided into two cottages to include the comforts of modern day living. Situated at the top of a winding track it enjoys stunning panoramic views over and around the embalse of Iznajar. Set on the edge of the Sierra Subetica, it is an ideal location for those seeking peace, tranquility, hillside walks, bird watching, painting/sketching and as a base from which to discover the delights of Granada, Cordoba, Antequera, Ronda and Sevilla. The cottage available to guests consists of 2 bedrooms, a shower room with toilet and wash hand basin, a kitchen and a lounge.
In addition to the 8m by 4m swimming pool with terrace and shaded area, there are two south facing terraces; an upper breakfast terrace with covered portico, and a lower sun terrace with shaded area. Below the farmhouse is a boules court.
The accommodation is very comfortable and well arranged. It is a great place to chill out while enjoying the surrounding Andalucian countryside. The small town of Iznajar is close by and has all the usual amenities, and has good access to the main routes to explore this wonderful scenic region.
On the edge of the Subbetica national park and only five minutes drive from the whitewashed town of Iznajar, its bars, cafes, shops (grocery stores, butchers, bakers) and the lakeside beach, Finca del Cielo is ideal for holiday makers looking to relax and swim, enjoy the scenery, do a little hill walking, bird watching, sketching and painting. Or treat it as a base camp from which you can enjoy day visits to the famous cities of Cordoba, Granada, Antequera, Malaga and even Seville.
Inside
The cottage is entirely self-contained. (The other cottage is occasionally owner occupied).
The master bedroom, which overlooks the swimming pool, has a large double bed. The second bedroom has twin beds. Each bedroom is simply but comfortably furnished with a wardrobe, a chest of drawers and bedside table lamps.
The kitchen comes with a small dining area with seating for 4 people and is well equipped with a fridge freezer, a 4-ring gas hob and a microwave oven/grill. The main entrance leads out to the 8m by 4m pool, while a second door off the kitchen leads out to the breakfast terrace. The master bedroom is located upstairs with a galleried landing. The twin bedroom is located downstairs. The ground floor lounge is comfortably furnished with two sofas, satellite TV, a DVD player and a portable CD player.
Room fans are provided throughout the cottage
Outside
The 8m by 4m pool with its terrace, pool loungers and shaded dining area, is exclusively for cottage guests use.
In addition there are two further private south facing terraces; a sun terrace overlooking the garden and offering fabulous views towards the village of Iznajar and its castle, and an upper breakfast terrace with covered portico.
Adjacent to the garden is a boules court. For those of you who enjoy the game, boules are provided, but please retrieve any errant ball that rolls out of court and down the hillside! And for anybody who enjoys outdoor barbeques, a large gas barbeque is also provided.
There is a car parking area behind the cottage.

Facilities: |
A Welcome Pack of bread, butter, cheese, eggs, chorizo, wine, orange juice, bottled water and beer is provided for guests.
A taxi service for evenings out can be arranged if your assigned driver would prefer to take the evening off(!)
Finca del Cielo and the town of Iznajar are equi-distant from both Granada and Malaga airports (approx 50 minutes). |
