Two bedroom apartment just 2 minutes from the beach with large private roof terrace, UK satellite TV, communal pool and under ground parking
Description of Apartment:
Kitchen has full-size fridge/freezer, four-ring gas hob, kettle, toaster, microwave and washing machine. You will also find all the dishes and cutlery you will need as well as pans. Lounge has satellite television with dvd player, portable cd player which can also be taken onto the roof as there is an electric socket in the cupboard under the sink. Main bedroom has built-in wardrobe with chest of drawers inside, ironing board and iron. Second bedroom has built-in wardrobe with chest of drawers inside. Bathroom has 6 bath towels, 6 hand towels and 6 face towels for use in the apartment, we do not supply beach towels. Cupboard under the stairs has a table and 4 chairs, hoover, mop, bucket and brushes. Private roof terrace has 2 sun loungers, built-in barbecue and sink. There is also 2 canopies which can be pulled across the terrace for when the sun gets too much, there are sides to the canopies in the wardrobe in the second bedroom. We recommend you hire a car and there is garage space beneath the apartment. Pharmacy is under the apartment should you need anything. Restaurants There is a very good one right under the apartment called the Lecrin Restaurant, the food here is lovely. Also further into Castell, which is a stroll along the beach there is a main square with a few restaurants which usually have a meal of the day for about 9 or 10 euros. As you stroll along the promenade you will come to an ice-cream parlour called the Heladeria, a pizzeria and a few more bars were you can get a lovely meal or just tapas. In the high season you will also find the beach bars scattered along the beach. Markets Castell de Ferro – on the beach on a Saturday morning, usually at the end of the prom, the opposite end from the apartment. Almunecar – Friday very good general market alongside the main road, great for shoes and handbags, second hand market there on a Saturday. Beaches There is Castell De Ferro beach just 5 minutes away from the apartment, which we find very pleasant. The beach is shale not sand. Playa de la Rijana – back towards Calahonda slip road off on the right heading Calahonda direction and drops down under the main road and onto beautiful beach with café set up in high season. Also there are lovely beaches in Salobrena, Almunecar and Nerja all within an hours drive. Shopping There are two supermarkets in the town just off the main square, where you should be able to find most things you need. There is also a fishmonger, bakers and a couple of shops that sell all sorts. The main supermarket is ‘Al Campo’ this is in Motril, which is about a 20 minute drive away, here you can get everything you need. The trollys take a 50 cent coin. There are two banks in Castell de Ferro, which also have cash point machines, we have used the one in the square and never had a problem. Trips out If you want to visit a water park, there is one right on the beach in Almunecar ‘Aquatropic theme park’. Nerja has a lovely beach called the Burriana beach, there are lots of bars and restaurants here too. If you fancy a paella then you must go to Ayos right on the beach, you can actually watch them make it in a huge paella dish, it costs about 5 euro for a plate of paella but you can keep going up for more. Salobrena is also a lovely place to visit and has a very large beach with bars spread out along the prom. You will find in most bars you will get tapas if you have a round of alcoholic drinks, and they are always gorgeous!
