Description of Townhouse: |
Casa Isabella is a pretty townhouse situated in a small, quiet Callejon (“small road”) in the old part of town. There are numerous shops, banks, supermarkets, restaurants, and bars in the town within walking distance - and a lively nightlife if required - with a weekly Thursday market and local festivals celebrated regularly throughout the year. Their enactment of events leading up to Easter Day are truly moving, whilst during the last few days in May the whole town has one big party for their Feria.
The house was completely rebuilt (finished Dec. 2007) to a very high standard, and has:
* 2 double/twin bedrooms with overhead fans and built-in wardrobes
* 2 shower-rooms (one ensuite)
* An open-plan sitting/dining area
* A wood-burning fire,
* A fully equipped American style kitchen.
* A TV in the Master Bedroom. Both bedrooms have floor-to-ceiling sliding windows, with balconies.
* A sun-terrace with 2 sun-loungers, a table and 4 chairs, and stunning views over the valley.
* A water-storage tank for emergencies!
* A laundry room off the terrace with a washing machine, clothes line etc.
* A welcome pack is provided
* A pay-as-you-go mobile phone will be available upon arrival
* Changeover day is flexible
* Parking is available nearby
* Smoking is permitted - but please not in the bedrooms for safety reasons
* The property is not really suitable for babies/toddlers. Clients wishing to bring them do so at their own risk.
Alhaurin el Grande is a typical Andalucian market town, with narrow whitewashed streets and pretty church squares, set at the base of the Mijas Mountain overlooking the Guadalhorce Valley. It is ideally located within 25 mins of the airport, beaches and towns of the Costa del Sol i.e. Malaga, Marbella, Fuengirola, La Cala, etc. and, during the winter, only 2 hours from the ski slopes of the Sierra Navadas. It is also surrounded by golf courses (over 20 within 10-45 mins drive), and stunning countryside for riding, cycling, walking or bird-watching
As for the weather, we can guarantee it will be wonderfully warm/hot between May-September, with April and October being slightly more changeable, when maybe there might be the odd shower. However between November-March it can be cold, with snow sometimes on the surrounding mountains, but the log-burner in the sitting-room will ensure you are warm at all times should you decide to have a winter break with us. We have to say, though, that the sun never disappears for long - and we have been known to sunbathe on Christmas Day!

The Costa del Sol is full of lovely places to see, golf courses to play and beaches to relax on! Just the other side of the mountain from Alhaurin is the famous ‘white’ village of Mijas, whilst further afield you can visit Gibraltar (1-1/2 hours), surf in Tarifa (2 hours) see the Alhambra Palace in Granada (2 hours), go to Cordoba (2 hours) Ronda (2 hours) Seville (2-1/2 hours), the sherry region of Jerez - or take a ferry to Morocco for the day. A day-trip from Malaga to Madrid is now also possible with the new high-speed rail connection taking only 2-1/2 hours each way. There is so much to do – but a car really is essential to do all this!!
