Situated in a rural location between Montefrio & Tocon, Casa Gabriela is a traditional Andalucian cortijo with 3 bedrooms and a private pool
Description of Country house:
Accommodation This is a traditional build with wood-beamed ceilings and one of the bedrooms retaining a cobbled floor. With the option of 3 bedrooms, the house has capacity to sleep up to 7 people. There is a good-sized pool and plenty of patio areas from which you can enjoy the excellent south-facing views. You enter into the lounge with fireplace and window facing the patio. From the lounge you access a double bedroom and the toilet/shower room. Stone stairs lead up to the bedrooms on the first floor. Outside A walled courtyard with built in barbecue is perfect for eating outdoors. A separate door from the courtyard gives access to the kitchen. The house is surrounded by olive groves and with 4000m2 (1 Acre) of private land, you are bound to find an ideal spot to take in the stunning views. For the more energetic, the surrounding countryside is ideal for walking, mountain-biking, bird watching, rambling and other outdoor activities. Local Area The nearest village is Tocon where the people are welcoming and very willing to help. There is a variety of small shops, bakers, a bank and hairdressers, meeting most requirements. Alternatively, explore the multitude of Tapas Bars, savouring the many local recipes. The best time to visit is during one of the many Fiestas, which normally last 2-3 days, and if you miss one in Tocon, just go to the neighbouring town for their Fiesta. For street parties with live music and entertainment the Tocon Fiesta, end of July, is hard to beat. Within 40 minutes drive you can visit the beautiful Moorish city of Granada, visit the world famous Alhambra or enjoy a round of golf. Alternatively, picnic at the woodland lakes, swim or enjoy the canoeing, windsurfing, and sailing with equipment for hire. Pool Adjacent to the house is a pool from which you can enjoy excellent views across the valley. You overlook Villanueva de Mesia, Bracana and Tocon against the backdrop of the mountain ranges. This is the ideal location for a relaxing bathe whilst savouring the beauty of the peaceful countryside. Travel The nearest international airport, 30 min, is Granada with very cheap fares from the UK with Ryan Air. Alternatively, many daily flights are available into Malaga which is 1hour 15 min away. Hire cars are available from both airports but best to book online in advance. Alternatively, collection can be arranged. Finally We live in Tocon and can provide any assistance or advice required to make this an enjoyable vacation, as we are certain that you will want to return to this idyllic haven.
