Description of Cottage: |
Situated in the valley of the Guadalhorce River, close to the Mediterranean, at the foot of the Mountains of Mijas (Sierra de Mijas) is El Romeral, a very rustic part of Alhaurín de la Torre. At the edge of El Romeral, on a level of 90 meters above sea level, you will find "El Girasol" (sunflower) a wonderful house connected to the village by a quiet country lane. Next to the main house and with its own entrance is La Casita, a small holiday cottage, self-contained and tastefully furnished which accommodates two people. This property incorporates all the comfort and luxury of modern living along that of traditional Spanish. Built above the main house, which is occupied by the owner, is a wonderful studio room with its own 40 m² solarium offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The studio is accessible via an outside staircase leading up from the patio. This studio room acts as additional accommodation when used in conjunction with La Casita and will sleep two. NOT SUITABLE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN.
The plot of El Girasol
The sloping plot of land of El Girasol covers an area of 1600 m². In the garden one will find many trees, such as orange, lemon, mandarin, grapefruit, avocado, medlar, grapes and caqui. Depending on the season one can take the fruits from the trees for consumption. The nicely tiled terrace of the holiday home offers the pleasant option of both sun and shade. This location offers a lot of peace, quiet and privacy. The adjacent swimming pool is in use from mid April to the end of October. The solarium in front of the studio offers stunning views over the valley, the mountains and in the distance the Mediterranean.
The surroundings of El Girasol
Being on the edge of the hamlet of El Romeral and still only a short distance from the famous Costa del Sol, those staying at El Girasol can enjoy the peace and quiet of Spanish country life as well as having the option to enjoy the lively atmosphere of the coast. In this rural environment public transport is available but rare. In order to be able to explore the beautiful surroundings, to go to a supermarket or to the beach, a rental car is necessary. |

Next to the terrace is the swimming pool of 7 x 4,5 meter (common use with the owner), sun loungers;
Covered barbecue next to the swimming pool.

Layout of the studio “El Girasol”
This studio room only acts as additional accommodation when used in conjunction with La Casita and will sleep two.
Fully furnished bedroom of (35 m²), twin bedded, with sitting area offering tea and coffee making facilities and good storage and hanging space;
The studio is located on the 1st floor of the main house and is accessible via an outside staircase;
Bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin;
In front of the studio there is a 40 m² furnished solarium offering spectacular mountain views. In the distance you can see the Mediterranean.
Parking space on the plot.
Prices are inclusive of:
Electricity, Gas, Water, the use of bed linen, (bath)towels and tea cloths.
For a visit to the beach: 4 beach chairs, a cool box and a parasol at your disposal.
Change of bed linen once a week.
Change of towels twice a week.
We are flexible in arrival- and departure days, however the minimum rental period is 7 nights. |
