Description of Townhouse:
Welcome to Gran Alacant. Altomar 1 is situated 20 minutes drive south of the vibrant and beautiful city of Alicante. Santa Pola a traditional Spanish seaside is ony 5 minutes drive from your holiday home. Gran Alacant is a superb location, with miles of unspoilt beaches and ideal for families. The 10 minute drive to the airport makes Altomar 1 a particular good place to stay. From the minute you land, to collecting your luggage, you can be in your holiday home in less than one hour. Gran Alacant is not on the flight path, and so there is no aircraft noise. Gran Alacant has plenty to offer those looking for a relaxing holiday and also those looking for something a bit more active. With easy access to Alicante city and the excellent motorway there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding areas. Less than 40 minutes by car is the exciting Terra Mitica theme park just outside Benidorm. Newley opened up in 2005 is Terra Natura which boasts of having 4 themed areas with zoo, entertainment and a waterpark. Also for the children is Mundomar the sea life centre and another larger water park - Aqualandia. This area is quite cosmopolitan with an interesting mixture of nationalities. This mixture is reflected in the bars and restaurants within the area. Gran Alacant has five large supermarkets and three small ones, all of which cater for most nationalities and are always well stocked. As you would expect Gran Alacant also has a chemist, banks, (with cash machines), bakers, ice-cream parlour, gift shops, DVD rental shop, internet cafes, car hire rentals and a petrol station. There is also a medical clinic nearby, which has two English speaking doctors and also a dentist. Although our house is a town house, it give the impression of being totally separate from the rest. It is the only house on Altomar 1 which is different from all the other properties, because of its larger bedrooms, larger roof top solarium and off-road parking. Our house enjoys some stunning views of the Crevillente mountains in the west, all in a microclimate regarded by the World Health Organisation to be the second healthiest place in the world. Every evening there is some breathtaking sunsets to be enjoyed from the solarium. Our lovely house is home from home and well equipped to cater for 5/6 people and to make your stay an enjoyable one. It comprises of: Lounge/diner - This spacious lounge consists of one three seater settee and two cane rocking chairs. For your pleasure there is full use of a music centre (CD, tapes & radio) TV and dvd player with a selection of dvds. Unfortunately, the majority of English owned properties on the Costa Blanca have now lost the UK tv. The police have closed them down because of illegal transmitting. Other tv companies are now being investigated. A ceiling fan is provided for the summer months, with heating for the winter months. Kitchen - The fully fitten kitchen (individual) comprises of fridge/freezer, electric cooker, gas hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, washing machine, iron and ironing board, and all kitchen utensils. Bedroom 1 - One double bed with fully fitted wardrobe with chest of draws and bedside cabinets. This bedroom boasts of having an en-suite bathroom, with bath (shower over), basin, toilet, bedet and plub point for shaver. Bedroom 2 - Two twin beds with fully fitted wardrobe, including drawers and shelves inside, and also a bedside cabinet. Bedroom 3 - This bedroom has one single bed, with fully fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers inside and a bedside cabinet. There is also a fold-up bed if needed for a small person or child. Bedlinen is provided for all the bedrooms and also towels (including beach). All the bedrooms have ceiling fans fitted for the summer months, which the doctors in Spain recommend, rather than air conditioning which can cause a lot of health problems. Bathrooms - There are two bathrooms upstairs, one of which is en-suite to the master bedroom. Both bathrooms are fully fitted with bath (shower over) basin, toilet, bedet and plug point for shaver. Shower room - Downstairs off the lounge is a shower room, which has a toilet, basin and shower unit. Outside areas - Downstairs at the front of the house, there is a small patio area with garden furniture provided. Whilst having your meals on the patio you can sit and enjoy some lovely views of the sierra mountains. The front garden has enough room to park your car off-road, if you choose to hire one. Upstairs our house boasts of having a large roof top solarium. It is covered with astro turf, so that you are able to walk barefoot during the summer months. Our solarium unlike others is totally private to sunbathe in, to relax and enjoy the sun on our sunloungers. Again garden furniture is provided with a parasol to sit under, if you want some shade. There is also a gas BBQ for you to use. Pool/Leisure area - Altomar 1 boasts of having a large swimming pool, surrounded by some beautiful gardens. The pool is only a few minutes walk away and it also incorporates a childrens pool as well. Within the garden areas, there are two toilets, which families with small children will be very grateful for, to save them going back to their accommodation. Next to the pool in a separate area, there is a multi-plex court to play either tennis (raquets provided), football and basket ball, and an area to play bouls as well. Also for the young children there is a play area, with plenty of seats for the adults to sit and watch the children, or just to enjoy the lovely sea views and carrabassi beach below. Beach - Only a 15 minute walk down a hill or a minutes drive with plenty of parking facilities to our nearest beach (Carrabassi). However, for the less energetic there are buses to take you down to the beach and also to bring you back up. NEW THIS YEAR FOR GRAN ALACANT - We now have a tourist train that drives on the main roads. It will cater for families who want to go down to the beach or the commercial centre. It also covers the whole of upper and lower Gran Alacant, to all the bars and restaurants. There is a section of the train where you can put your buggies. It will be running from the tourist information centre every hour, and is going to run all the year. There are miles of unspoilt sandy beaches as well as sand dunes. These are blue flagged which are cleaned daily and very safe bathing. There is a parasol for you to take to the beach if you like to sit in the shade. Or you can hire sunbeds and parasols on the beach, which are situated just near the beach bar. Booking Conditions Bookings are made to suit you, whatever the time or day of the week. To secure your booking, all that is required is a cheque for £100. This will be given back to you on the day of your departure after the apartment has been checked. The full amount for your accommodation does not have to be paid until the day or your arrival. However, it must be paid in cash (Euros). On the day of your departure, you dont have to vacate the apartment until 15 minutes before your check-in time. The rates quoted are to rent (per week) and NOT per person. Unlike most of the properties within Gran Alacant, my husband and I are able to give our own personal touch to all our customers, because we only live a few minutes from the house, which is why we have regular customers coming back to us year after year.

The Costa Blanca is an excellent area for all types of birds. We have got numerous large nature reserves with hides etc, and in the mountain areas where there are different hawkes and eagles including the famous Bonnellis Eagle. They usually lay their eggs around April time.
